Have you ever struggled your way through a manscript only to get halfway through it and realise it's an absolute non starter?
That's how I feel about the project I've been working on for 12 months.
12 damned months!
I've had a bad feeling about it for a while now, but honestly thought I could make it work. See, I'm just not sure about the plot or the characters anymore. I don't get that heady feeling when I think about it, well, to be honest, I don't even really think about it. In fact, I actually avoid writing it because, well, I don't want to.
It doesn't thrill me like it should.
So I should give it up.

Last night my husband and I went to a Murder Mystery evening at a local Hotel for a friends' birthday.
As the theme was Hollywood glitz and glamour, I went all out to look the part in my new LBD and silver strappy heels.
Totally unpractical, but for one night only I stepped out without my flip flops and skinny jeans!

No, I don't have any real desire for snow, not with the chaos this country gets into, but I do love looking at snow and writing about it.
This is Paris in the snow. A beautiful photograph that has inspired my WIP.
This is London in the snow.
Another wonderful snap in time that will feature in my new work.

So, my husband informed me this morning, it's 41 sleeps to Christmas.
I don't know why this struck fear into me when I am well aware the big man in the red suit is checking his list (I remind the kids several times a day!).
So, as I made the boys' packed lunch for school I had an idea...exclusive Christmas gift wrapped copies of 'Hope & Jump' and 'A Love That Makes Life Drunk'.
I'm thinking signed copies; I'm thinking addressed to a friend and sent straight to their address?
It's in the infant stages, so keep checking and I'll post a few pictures as soon as possible - after all, it's only 41 sleeps!

This is the The Bluetones.
Probably the most influencial band of my life between the ages of 20 to now, and so I say with huge regret that they are no more.
After 17 years of touring, and 6 studio albums they've decided it's time to say goodbye, and I'm gutted.
I will never forget Camden Town Hall in new white Adidas trainers. I will always be grateful you wrote the song 'Hope & Jump'.
Thank you for all the great times.
Thank you for so many great memories.

It's been a slightly testing evening, so now the kids are calming down (and me!) I think I'll settle down to a little glass of fi...
