My Little French Kitchen - Rachel Khoo

This is what I ordered today - the sequel to Rachel Khoo's fantastic 'The Little Paris Kitchen', which remains one of my favourite cookery books.
This one is 'My Little French Kitchen' and cannot wait to get stuck. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives.

Why I Still Miss My Old Chickens

It's just over a year a now since I had to re-home our chickens because we had to move. Unfortunately there wasn't the space in our small Cornish garden for my four girls so I sought a good home and off they went to pastures new.
I love chickens. They are such characters and fantastic pets. Yes, they love a good scrat and you wouldn't let them near your favourite flowers or veg patch, but the return you get for giving them a loving home far outweigh the unsightly lawn (kind of!) - lots of free range fresh eggs!
I know my girls have a new garden and new names, but to me they will always be my handpicked Coco, Peach, Mademoiselle Fifi and Little Red.
Still missing you after all this time.

Cabbages and Roses

This is Christina Strutt, creator and owner of the fabulous Cabbages & Roses.
It is the perfect Lifestyle shop, especially for anyone who loves the distinct designs of Emma and Cath but are maybe looking for a change.
Pretty florals and crisp white chic with a touch of individualism and quirkiness that I just love.

And a gorgeous shop to boot.

It's just what I've been looking for to kick away my persistent writer's block and the moody rainy days we're having down here in Cornwall.
From the first album, 'Note To Self' and 'Someplace' are really floating my boat, and from Shangri La, I adore the new single 'A Song about Love'.
I love it when my writing finds a friend in music, and Jake Bugg and me are becoming very firm friends indeed.

Fizz Time

It's been a slightly testing evening, so now the kids are calming down (and me!) I think I'll settle down to a little glass of fi...
